Mix It Up!

Mixed prints can be a fashion challenge this season, but don’t let the concept intimidate you! Many fashion designers have sent their models down the runway with an assortment of prints, and we love the idea! Even certain celebs such as Kristin Cavillari or Rachel Bilson have donned the mixed prints trend.  Be confident and rock the varied print look!

• Colors: Stay within the same color family such as neutrals or similar color hues. 

• Scales: Try pairing dainty prints with bold, larger ones. In addition, try pairing dense prints with those more spaced out.

• Basics: Use a solid piece to help break up patterns for a clean, chic look.

• Contrasts: Geometric and edgy prints work well with softer prints. 

• Easy Styles: 
• Soft stripes paired with floral
• Nautical stripes paired with polka dot
• Color  block pieces paired with abstract prints

• Colored pants: Whether they are high-waist, low cut, flare, or tapered, colored pants are in this season. Pair them with dark layers of coats and sweaters to create a fun look.

   

 

• Rusted Hues and Mustard yellows: Turning up the hues of rust and mustard, these must-haves now replace last fall’s camel colors. Incorporate these colors into your wardrobe for an inspiring outfit.

   

 

• Jade Green- This bold color might be your party outfit for this season! It compliments any skin tone and is proven to be dashing.

Fall Fabrics

Be a trend setter wearing Fall’s most fashionable styles! While trying out new colors, don’t be afraid to pull out those old favorites in the back of your closet. We’ve compiled a number of ways on how it can be done. 

Starting with fall fabrics, runways flourished with a wide range of patterns and textures this season including our favorites: Polka Dots, Plaid, Camo-Inspired, and A Touch of Lace. 

• Polka Dot: Adding a cute and girly vibe to any outfit, this dotty trend is sure to make you stand out. You can rock this pattern from head to toe while having the freedom to mix various polka dot pieces. If this is too bold for you then pair solid pieces with your polka dot ones to make it pop.

         

• Plaid: New York fashion week fall 2011 reported granny plaids are in this season! We’ve all incorporated plaid into our wardrobe at one point or another, so rock it if you still have it. Find this style anywhere from local vintage stores to mainstream stores like H&M. 

          

• Camo-Inspired: Glamour reports camo print is another style to add to your wardrobe especially for those who like to sport an urban style. Camo-inspired clothing is best paired with boots or pumps. 

         

• A Touch Of Lace: Lace has been reintroduced rendering more of an eloquent and polished look. A touch of lace can make any girl feel confident, so use anything you have embellished in lace!
